Dear Mr. Snagg,
Goodness. I receive this news with equal parts bewilderment, excitement, & high honor. As I’m sure it was for you, this past month has been a time of mourning, & yet, of anticipation as well. And then, so unexpected, your email arrived. I must say I’d always assumed I would be among the first to order the books, but never on God’s green earth would I have imagined being party to their publication. I can only presume it is due to the deceased’s acquaintanceship with the late Mr. Baumgartner, who preceded me as managing editor here at the Press.
So it appears we find ourselves both sudden participants in a glorious & momentous burden--arguably the most anticipated (& note: I am not given to hyperbole) exhuming of literary artifacts since the Dead Sea Scrolls, if you’ll indulge the comparison.
I have made travel arrangements. Will write soon.
Warmest regards,
L. Rosen
