Wanting to be the best trumpet player in the school, he began taking lessons from Mr. Williams-Great-Practitioner-of-Trumpet... And Mark's talent and ability grew and multiplied and stories of his skill passed through all lands... And Mark was leader of high school groups and eventually became the chiefest of high school trumpets in all of Orange County... And Mark matriculated in the School of Schools and took lessons from He who was the ruler and king of the School... And then a curse afflicted Mark and his facility began to decline, bringing torments and frustrations... Amidst these torments a vision came to Mark of a life without trumpet...
